What do we know about sharks on Cape Cod?

Sharks have been tagged with many types of tracking and feedback devices, which gather data on shark movements. Although researchers now have more than a decade of data, they are still building understanding of white shark movement and patterns. We do know they return to Cape Cod and this year tagged sharks showed up this year in June.


What shark tracking tools are available ?

At its media day, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy pointed to several tools through which interested people follow shark sightings and shark movement. These include the White Shark Log Book for data and historical movement from 2010-2022 and the Sharktivity app for ongoing shark sightings.


What is the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy?

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy provides resrouces and education about white sharks, and runs the Shark Center museums in Chatham and Provincetown.
