Bringing It Home to Cape Cod

Welcome to Lower Cape News! We are an arm of Lower Cape TV, dedicated to reporting and producing factual, non-partisan, local, and independent stories about our Cape Cod region.

Our mantra is two-fold: report the under-reported and bring the national local.

We look for the stories and issues and conversations happening all around us on the Cape. We listen to people from our many sub-communities and ask a lot of questions. We look at official reports and releases, watch social media, and stroll the local grocery store and post office aisles to learn what people are talking about, wanting to learn more about, or needing to know about. We take in ideas and submissions too. (you can submit ideas here). 

We can't cover everything, but we try to create a cross-section and snapshot of our local (and often under-reported!) topics ... celebrating the everyday events, sharing changes, digging into questions, and bringing perspective to issues.

We also look to larger state and national stories and explore how they impact our communities. We don't live in a bubble, but we do experience larger events with our own local lens. How are housing issues local to the Cape? What impact does climate change have on our local economy and culture? What does federal budget money mean on the ground, here? It isn't all serious - we look at the lighter side of larger trends too, sharing how the Cape is part of the world in its own unique way.

So what do we cover? I guess the best way to say it is that we try to tell "the story of us", of our Cape communities from our perspective, with our local voices front and center.
