The 2023 season opened on June 10 highlighted by a rematch of last year’s championship series, as the Brewster Whitecaps defeated the Bourne Braves 6-4.
Teams will each play a 44-game regular season schedule, with no scheduled doubleheaders. Divisional opponents will face each other six times, while cross-divisional opponents will face each other four times.
The Cape Cod Baseball League is the premier collegiate summer baseball league in the nation, officially formed in 1923, but with roots dating back to 1885. The Cape Cod Baseball League is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Players from across the United States representing all NCAA college divisions are recruited to play in the 10-team league.
Teams are located in Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Cotuit, Falmouth, Harwich, Hyannis, Orleans, Wareham and Yarmouth-Dennis.
the new season features a number of notable changes to league operations. Aside from centenary celebrations, the 2023 Cape League season introduces pace-of-play regulations, new extra inning rules and a video live-streaming partnership with D1Baseball.com.
The annual Cape League All-Star Game will return to Whitehouse Field, home of the Harwich Mariners. The game will be played Saturday, July 22nd, with first pitch scheduled for 6pm.
The playoffs are scheduled to begin Friday, August 4th. The playoff format will feature eight teams, the top four from each division, playing three rounds of best-of-three series.
The Championship is scheduled for August 10-12.
All Cape League baseball games are free of charge and tickets are not needed! The games are played on local fields across Cape Cod and offer limited bleachers and field space to enjoy the game.
The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and D1Baseball announced a streaming rights agreement for the 2023 CCBL season. All 220 CCBL regular season games and CCBL postseason games will be available to watch for free on d1baseball.com
