What is integrated healing?

Integrated healing combines treatment of mind, body, and spirit to manage trauma and other mental health challenges. Organizations like BFree Wellness in Hyannis combine talk therapy with physical motion and breath work to support mental health and healing.

What is breath work?

Thoughtful and intentional breathing helps the human body self regulate. This type of breathing can play a powerful role in mental wellness and forms part of a healing approach for addressing trauma, anxiety, and other diagnoses. It also form part of a preventative practice to protect and support ongoing mental health wellness.

Who benefits from breath and motion?

According to Ayanna Freedom, found of nonprofit BFree Wellness in Hyannis, people of all ages "from 5 to 105" can draw upon breath and movement as tools to help the body find equilibrium and heal the stress and trauma it physically holds, creating greater mental health and wellness. During the recent years of the dual pandemics of COVID and racism, most people lie at risk for trauma and the need for mental health treatment and preventative mental health care has grown.
