What is the soup social in Wellfleet?
31 January 2025 - WELLFLEET, MA -Preservation Hall holds monthly soup socials from January to March to bring some savory light to the long winters. The free event's sole goal is to bring people together and enjoy some warm soup on a cold night.
What happens at a soup social?
Preservation Hall co-chair Kristi Griffin said the social brings an opportunity for people of all walks of life in the Cape community to come together and socialize. During the Cape winter many restaurants and gathering places close - but the social provide an antidote to the sense of desolation that can sometimes set it. "It's just nice to have a place to get out," she said
When are the soup socials?
The soup gathering began about two years ago. The free pop-up event announces itself on social media and through word of mouth every few weeks between the holidays and the start of spring.
