Who is the new right whale ecology program director?
27 August 2024 — PROVINCETOWN, MA — The Center for Coastal Studies appointed Dr. Daniel Palacios as the new director of the right whale ecology program. The appointment follows the retirement of long-time whale expert Dr. Charles 'Stormy' Mayo.
Dr. Palacios was previously with Oregon State University and brings extensive expertise in whale research and a dynamic approach to advancing the program's goals. In this interview with Lower Cape TV Coast + Climate report Angela McNerney, Cape Cod Bay's new right whale champion opens up about his history and why he's so passionate about whales.
