Why should we love native plants?

July 2024 - Cape Cod MA - This month garden coach Priscilla Husband sings the praises of native plants. They support our pollinators, bring flowers, seeds, and scents across all seasons, and best of all - especially in lazy July - they bring low-maintenance beauty. Once established, they require little water and minimal care and choosing a range of varies brings blooms in all seasons.

How does native planting help pollinators?

Planting native flowers that bloom at different times provides an ideal habitat for pollinators. Native plants provide pollen and nectar for food, cover from predators and the elements, and places for their young to survive. Their nectar and pollen offers food for our critical pollinators as well as seeds for our songbirds.
