04 April, 2025 - BREWSTER, MA - Migratory herring will have an easier time returning home to Brewster's Herring River this year, as the town completes work on the herring run. It finished repairs on four weirs in time for this spring's piscine visits, with the remainder of the project slated for a fall completion. The work also shored up a 100-plus year old retaining walls and along the way uncovered a previously-unknown wooden sluice-way that has been shared with the Mass Historical Commission.
